Horrible Luck in Poker

For a match where the majority of participants occasionally consider good luck, there are tonnes of folklore in poker. When you mention that an individual was blessed in that poker tournament they won, be mindful of how you say it. For example, if you mention that you were unlucky, your fortune may not change.

Ok, that may sound a bit strange, but poker is a game armed with superstitions. Did you realize that if you’re wagering a game with two seperate decks and you are asked to pick the deck, you should always choose the deck that’s the furthest away from you? Or, how about If you get a streak of bad cards, you have to sit on a hankerchief to break your bad luck? It’s actually considered good luck to blow through a pack of cards when they’re being mixed up.

Some other interesting poker superstitions are:

  • You might be able to change the run of cards by going around your chair 3 times.
  • The luckiest spot at the poker table faces the entrance.
  • The unluckiest seat has its back to a fireplace.
  • When changing spots, you should constantly do so following the clock.
  • The most detrimental poker card is the four of clubs.
  • It is very unlucky to cross your legs when sitting at the poker table.
  • Sunday is a terrible day for playing cards.
  • The thirteenth is also a terrible day, regardless of what day of the week it is.
